Doctor of Medicine - MD
This doctoral programme is the typical choice in the field of medicine. The Doctor of Medicine (MD) Degree is for experienced medical professionals the equivalent to what the famous DBA is for economists. As professional doctorate, the Doctor of Medicine degree undertakes practice-oriented doctoral research in the field of integral medicine.
The programme of studies differs from a purely academic PhD in Medicine through its distinct focus on practice. Therefore, it is an ideal qualification for candidates seeking to research beyond theory. Studies and their structure are equal to those for professional doctorates. However, the MD programme has the same demand on evidence-based findings than the PhD, which can be defended in the Viva. The research can adopt the form of the traditional doctoral thesis, but also be a research project.

Doctor of Healthcare Administration (DHA)
The Doctor of Healthcare Administration complements the two other professional doctoral degrees in Business and Public Administration. All of them share that they belong to the strand of professional doctorates: Profound research for the real world, which is very much in the interest of all kinds of healthcare organisations.
The Doctor of Healthcare Administration positively differentiates. It is a much more sophisticated level than the corresponding Master's degree. It is for those, who want to accept the extraordinary challenge, but also aim for top management positions in healthcare organisations. The DHA is the right choice, but of course comes with some challenges. Despite its frequent focus on applied sciences, thorough empirical research is part of the doctoral thesis as well.
Despite these challenges and the request for independent research, students for the DHA are never alone. Their individually allocated Director of Studies supports and guides them during the whole time. Generally, structure of studies and requirements are exactly the same as for the DBA and the DPA, but the topic of the thesis is consequentially addressing the healthcare sector, medicine, and/or their management.
