The EurAka University's strong record in state of the art research projects in technology and engineering makes the University a first choice for respective research studies. Many research projects, often in partnership with first tier institutes of other renowned universities, have resulted in outputs of high impact. No surprise then that significant research funding from official sources, e.g., the German Government or the Government of Saxonia, could be attracted.
Such outstanding and internationally renowned expertise is the perfect background for interested candidates to undertake their doctoral studies in the midst of outstanding experts in technology and engineering. Being part of such projects or researching an own project in technology and/or engineering is a particular challenge, but as well most rewarding.
PhD studies in technology or engineering are following the typical pathway. Independently the doctoral student works on their research, which can be a thesis, a project or a mixture of both. All doctoral students are supported by their individual Director of Studies. The Directors of Studies guide the EurAka University's research students until submission of their final paper. As soon as acceptance by the Doctoral Jury is awarded, candidates will defend their work in their Viva.
The typical standard period of studies for the PhD in Engineering or Technology is between three and five years. As these studies are independent, no physical presence is requested. Modern technology makes it easy for students from all around the world to be in contact with their Director of Studies without the need to always travel.
